Vision & Beliefs

OUTWARD: Actively pursue vital mission efforts and outreach in Johnstown, OH and beyond.
UPWARD: Celebrate God’s love and grace through engaging and energetic worship.
Vision:
Taking God's love to the world and sharing the good news of Jesus Christ!
Belief Statement:
John 14: 6 – 7a Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. If you really knew me, you would know my Father as well.”
Matthew 22: 36 – 40 “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?” Jesus replied: “ ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”
We believe Jesus Christ is the foundation of our faith; that we are saved by grace through faith. We believe Jesus is the world’s singular saving Lord and no one comes to the Father but through Him. We believe the Bible is God’s holy word, and that Christians are called to live a holy life, which includes the Biblical standard of chastity in singleness and fidelity in marriage. We are grounded in Scripture and try to show our faith and love for each other in all we do within our church and in the community. We recognize that although we support missions both global and local, we would like to improve our outreach to the local community to fulfill the Great Commission.
Children 10 years or older may serve as an acolyte after a brief training session highlighting the purpose and duties of an acolyte. Training sessions are on a rolling schedule. Contact the church office for upcoming sessions.
Each week members of the congregation can sign-up to greet people as they come into the church. This is a wonderful way to get to see each other and greet guests with a welcoming handshake and smile.
These welcoming individuals serve by passing the collection plate during the Offering.
Our church has a number of committees that you can become involved in including Mission and Fellowship.

We partner with the Johnstown Food Pantry to help meet the needs of struggling families within the community. Donated items are brought to the church and delivered to the Food Pantry, twice a month. The church also provides monetary assistance to purchase perishable items. Check the bulletin or call the church office to find out about this month’s needs. However, whatever you can share makes a difference in the life of someone else. Seasonal items like back-to-school supplies and holiday items are especially appreciated.
St Vincent Haven is located in Newark, Ohio. It is a 50 bed emergency based shelter for men 18 year and older who are homeless in Licking County. Residents receive safe shelter, support and advocacy. Assistance is provided to the residents to help them find employment, improve educational skills, address mental health, physical health or substance abuse issues and permanent housing.
We have been serving this mission for approximately 10 years. The 4th Saturday of each month we provide a hot meal to the residents. We serve the residents their dinner from the kitchen located in the Haven, and a number of us share the meal with the men with the hope that they may be drawn into conversation. If interested in serving in this mission please contact Kathy Trimble. (Matthew 25:31 -40.
